Pieces of Equipment that Every Home Gym Should Have

Not everybody has time to go to the gym for a workout. Most people have long hours in the office and can only sneak a few hours to exercise. This is why a home gym was invented. But are the essential equipment that you should pick to have an overall body workout every day? Here are our recommendations:

Dumbbells

Dumbbells have been a staple of home and commercial gyms for years. You can do a lot of workouts with just a pair of dumbbells on your hand. Do bicep curls and you can develop your arms. Raise them laterally and you can build muscle mass on your shoulders. You can even make you back broader and stronger with just these seemingly simple pieces of equipment.

Resistance bands

Another simple yet effective tool that you can use is the resistance band. The bands available on the market are created with different resistance levels so that you can do a lot of stretches and increase flexibility with this device.

Kettlebell

Are you familiar with a kettlebell? These function the same way as dumbbells but have a different form and shape. Instead of a bar and round weights, the kettlebell has a round shape with a handle for lifting. You now can also get adjustable kettlebells which can make cleanup easier.

Jump Rope

Jump ropes are great calorie burners inside or outside the house. With just a small amount of space, you can lose those unwanted body calories. Regular use of jump ropes can also increase your agility and improve your balance. The best thing about jump ropes is that this piece of equipment is very affordable. You can even get more discounts from offers and coupons on our website.

Barbell

This is a bigger version of the dumbbell. If you have space in your room or home gym, it is recommended that you buy an accompanying a workout bench with the barbell. Barbells give you more uniformity and balance when you lift weights. It can also strengthen your back and build the upper and lower back.

Foam Rollers

You don’t always have to do high-intensity workouts every day. You still need to give your body some time to recover. One way to maximize your day is by using foam rollers. These rollers are textures to give you relief in the soreness of your muscles. They can also help you in your post-stretch routines for your hamstrings, legs, thighs, and back.

  1. Thank you for this article! I’ve always wanted to know about the stuff that I should purchase for my home gym. I just moved out to my apartment and wanted to spend less on equipment. Now, I just need to decide which one to buy first, kettlebell or dumbbell. Any suggestions?

  2. Are foam rollers really that effective for post-stretching? I have a few in my home because a friend of mine has them but I have no idea on how to use them! I thought it was just for decoration or something. Better ask my buddy to teach me how to correctly use the foam rollers.

  3. I have seen boxers and other athletes do skip ropes all the time. I think using jump ropes can also give you coordination and focus. It can also give you rhythm so that you can move forward, backward, and laterally easier and with more control. Some say it can also increase brain power.
